I went to the State Fair today with my roomate and her big. It was actually a lot of fun. We went on a few rides and ate a lot of greasy food (which i'm probably gonna regret in the morning, haha.) Anyhoo, one of our last stops for the day was at the 4-H building. And much to my suprise, Team 250 had an exhibition set up there. (So random.) But within this little exhibition, they had a mini 2vs2 game with some ping pong balls and little robots.

And while driving my mini-robot around the "arena", I came to the sudden realization why I never tried out for driver. (I couldn't score for the life of me. Hah.)

But yeah, that made me giddy. Not gonna lie.

So, i'm back at school, and the first week of classes just ended. Everything is going well for the most part. My classes are enjoyable (In development on wednesday, we critically analyzed 'Dick in a Box' for like a half hour. Dick in a Box.), Work is going well (Yay team LX!), and the SUMB is bandtastic! (...that was bad. Sorry.) Things are going to get ridiculous really fast due to shows, band and homework. But hey, i'm ready. I hope.

The first home football game of the season was tonight. It was A LOT of fun, even know SU got pwned. (The final score was 42-12.) But I managed to get on TV for a few seconds. Woo. (It was towards the end of the first half when we were on the sidelines. People keep IMing me about it. And no, I didn't go crazy for the camera, mainly because the camera operator never gave us a hint that we were on air. Oh well.)

In other news, Scrubs Season 6 comes out on October 30th. Which is the same day that the new Backstreet Boys and Saves the Day album comes out. Looks like i'm not getting groceries that week...

Hey, I'm still alive.

My job contract ends Saturday night. Damn. It's hard to believe that it's over already. ::shrugs:: It's been a good summer. I got lots of work experience, I met a bunch of cool people, and I learned a lot about myself. (emoemoemo, I know.) And as much as I enjoy Spotopia, I cannot wait to get back to school. I miss the camaraderie of the department.

And if anyone cares, I'm back in Syracuse Monday afternoon for band camp. I may come and harass the D/T apartments at some point :-D

And on a completely different note... I have been playing Starcraft A LOT recently. You know you want to do a multiplayer game with me...

I go back to Syracuse in about five weeks. That's ridiculous. Where did this summer go?

Peter Pan has been going well. Davey (my spotlight) decided to give me trouble last week (the lamp wouldn't ignite. Luckily, this only went on for about two shows.) The show closes next friday and we jump into the tap extravaganza that is Throughly Modern Millie. Fantastic.

Also, people from home are actually visitng me up here, which is awesome. (Sarah visited me last weekend. And Michelle is coming to visit me next Thursday.)

I'm not afraid to admit that I have seen Transformers twice. It's a really entertaining movie (despite Chevorlet's sublminial advertising.) I'm probably going to end up seeing it one more time. (I'm not in a big rush to see OotP. To be honest, I'm a bit Harry Pottered out.)

So I offically escaped Saigon... And now i'm in Neverland.

And by that, I mean that we opened up 'Peter Pan' last Wednesday. Changeover went well, tech went well, and the shows are going really well. The show is so freaking colorful. It looks so surreal. It's great. And I get to spot flying people. Which is a difficult task. Hahaha.

I drove down to Carousel today to see the new Die Hard movie. (None of the theatres in Auburn are showing it... wtf...) and it is actually really entertaining. Oh, and Justin Long (swoon!) is in it. Come on guys, JUSTIN LONG!

And ah... I really don't know what else to write about. I've been working alot. ::shrugs:: Buuuuuuut I guess to make this entry worthwile, here is a stolen meme from Sarah. Who stole it from Becky.

Give me a fandom and I will tell you:

01. The first character I first fell in love with
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
06. The character I would shag anytime
07. The character I'd want to be like
08. The character I'd slap
09. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I hate

Oh god, this song is amaaaazing. please do yourself a favor and listen to some Caspian or God is an Astronaut. Seriously.

But in other news, i'm alive! Things have been going well. I've been working in the shops during the day and running spot for Miss Saigon at night. (If there are two shows, I just run spotlight for both.) It's a good experience and i'm getting a lot out of it. And suprisingly enough, I'm actually enjoying the show (even know I've seen it over twenty times...) Sure, the show is a bit emo, but there are a couple of interesting scenes in it that manage to keep me entertained each night. Also, the people I work with are pretty cool But i'm not gonna lie when I say that I miss you guys back in the TOC. (::insert the "you should come see me because we're totally doing Peter Pan in a couple of weeks" guilt trip here::)

Besides work, nothing too exciting has been going on in my life. I'm still looking to see if anyone is interested in going to the Projekt Revolution concert... (::insert another guilt trip::) and I finally managed to catch up on my Scrubs. And all i'm saying is that i'm glad that Season 6 ended the way it did. They so belong together.

OH, and in speaking of Scrubs, Nurse Roberts is coming back!

Don't see PotC3 this weekend. Go see Bug instead. Because at least you know that isn't going to be lame RIGHT OFF the bat. (I think I lost all of my friends by saying that.)

My first overnight hang session was last night. It wasn't as painful as I thought it was going to be. Everything is hung and about half of the plot is circuited. The other half is getting circuited tonight. Focus is tomorrow night, a show runthrough is Sunday night, Monday-Wednesday is tech and we open Wednesday night. So yeah, it's pretty intense. But as long as I have a couple cans of red bull, I should be a-ok. Hopefully.

I also moved into my new room today. I'm now in a 6 person suite. It's pretty nice. My room is pretty big and I can probably fit two people on the floor if anyone wants to come up and see a show or something. ::cough:: That wasn't a desprate attempt or anything.

I started listening to Brand New's "Your Favorite Weapon" a couple of days ago and I totally forgot how "angsty" and fun their lyrics are (I hate my life/I hate my ex/ I hate my best friends etcetcetc.) The most ridiculous song is definately Seventy Times 7. Pretty much for these lines:

"I played it quiet, left you deep in conversation.
I felt uncool and hung out around the kitchen.
I remember I kept thinking that I know you never would,
And now I know I want to kill you like only a best friend could!"

&:

"They say you need to pray if you want to go to heaven
but they don't tell you what to say when your whole life has gone to hell."

& the best one:

"Have another drink and drive yourself home.
I hope there's ice on all the roads.
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt,
and again when your head goes through the windshield."

Mmmm. Classic angst.

Jumbled thoughts. Everybody loves them.

I'm in Auburn. Nothing too major to report. I've been getting my electrics on six days of the week (and sleeping on the seventh.) Annnnnnnd... yeah. The people out here are really cool. And since I don't have a direct interweb connection, I have to mooch it any way that I possibly can. And well, because of this, I have a request...Can SOMEONE out there pretend to be friends with me and call me? And since everyone uses the interweb and... well... it would be nice to hear a familiar voice. I'll give you money. And sexual favours. (And by money and sexual favours, I mean you get the satisfaction of knowing you put a little smile on my face.)

Caspian + Explosions in the Sky + God is an Astronaut + Godspeed you! Black Emporer + They Will Destroy You = SWOON. (Post-Rock is great. Suggest a band that I can add onto this list.)

Oh, and Scrubs Season 5 comes out tomorrow. I'm way too excited about this. (It's sad when you get ridiculously excited over a TV show. Well, at least it's a good TV show, and not like Laguna Beach or Grey's Anatomy. No offense if you like either of those shows.)

So, I finally saw Spider Man 3 today. It wasn't as bad as people have been saying. I mean, sure, the romance bits were a bit hokey (especially the jazz club. OH. MY. GOD.) but the ridiculous amount of action made up for it.

Oh, and i'm actually really excited for Across the Universe. That looks like it should be a reeeeeeally fun movie.

Well, I was done with finals last Thursday. And let me tell you, that was the greatest feeling in the world. I didn't actually leave Syracuse until Saturday. And even then, I didn't go home right away. (I went up to RIT to see Michelle! And Ben Folds!) And now I'm back in the good ol' TOC doing absolutely nothing.

I finally managed to unpack the last of my crap today. Which is great and all, except that I have to re-pack it in about three days. And I have to try and fit everything in The Todd. Fuck. I was never any good at Tetris.

But in random concert news, Projekt Revolution is going to be at the NYS Fairgrounds on August 28th. I really want to go, but only for frigging PLACEBO(!!!!!!!) and Linkin Park(!!) Sadly, the other acts are kind of shitty. And yes, the 28th is the first Tuesday of classes (my last class actually ends at 2...) Might anyone be interested in going? I mean... come on guys... Random thoughts: Because I don't feel like writing a normal entry. (And i've been studying for a while. Break time!)

-My photo professor liked my first sound/slide. (I'm going to see if I can get it on YouTube or something. It's a weird program so I don't know how to upload it.)
-I have SO MUCH photo shit to do. It's not even funny. (And of course, the Newhouse labs were closed today. Which totally helps me out.)
-The five forms of montage are tonal, overtonal, intellectual, rythmic and metric. (Film history final tomorrow. Greeeeeeat.)
-I saw Death of a Salesman tonight. It was a good show. Very uplifting and happy. (Hah.)
-I'm out of here in a little over a week.
-...And i'm back here in about two and a half weeks.
-I feel like marching right now. Does this make me a giant tool? (Don't answer that.)
-My last concert was Death Cab in October... that's really, really depressing.
-But thats okay, because I'm seeing Ben Folds (and Michelle) on the fifth! Woot!
-Placebo is an amazing band.

Alright, I have class at 8, I should probably go to bed.

So today was a BEAUTIFUL day. And I hope you guys had a good time. I was stuck in the Newhouse computer labs for a good amount of the day. I mean, that sucks and all, but at least I got most of my first sound/slide done. And I uploaded the sound for my second sound/slide. I still have yet to go over the raw files, but it's safe to say i'm okay. (I only need a minute and I have over 20 minutes to pick from.)

And in regards to the last entry... that's all null and void. I got an email back from the CRS secretary yesterday telling me that she put me in the Wednesday/Friday class. It's at a horrible time (12:45-2:05) but whatever. All of my professors have told me positive stories about people who have taken the class. So i'm hoping that it does the trick.

Oh... and I'm sure I have sent this to most of you guys, but I'm sorry. It's so ridiculous. I LOVE IT!

Well, it looks like almost all the regular sections of public speaking are closed. I just emailed the CRS secretary begging to be waitlisted for even more sections than I originally waitlisted for. (And the worst part was I was really high up on the original waitlist.) And well, if I don't get in, that means that I need to find ANOTHER CLASS to fit into my schedule. Excuse me for a second...

It's taunting me. I haven't played laser tag in FOREVER. I WANNA GOOOO.

In other whinyemobitch news, I have had a decent self-confidence boost over the past week. It feels good. Lets see how long this lasts.

It's four in the morning. I took a nap tonight (and by nap, I mean I accidentaly fell asleep) so i'm a little wired.

Uh, so what has been going on? Nothing too much. I've just been trying to keep my head above water and finish up the semester with a smile (and some decent grades... that's always a plus.) Um... classes have been going well. I have a lighting project due tuesday and eighty million photos due within the next few weeks. (HEY SYRACUSE KIDS, I NEED YOU FOR PICTURES.)

I managed to get a job this summer! It's with Merry-Go-Round playhouse. I'm REALLY REALLY amped about this. I leave on my birthday and I don't come back until the day before I have to leave for band camp. So, i'm going to be home for about a week. (I'm going to try and plan a little get together before I go. That is if anyone is back in the TOC by that time.)

Placebo is actually a great band. Why did no one ever tell me about them?

AND OF COURSE...

Sooo, Winter's Tale opened up on Friday. And besides a few small cue errors, it actually went pretty well. I learned quite a bit from the experience (thank youuuuuuu Lauren!) and every day, i'm getting more and more amped for Servant of two Masters.

Besides that... nothing new has been happening. Lots of work. Lots of "What's my life about?" moments... you know the drill.

But on a Scrubs related note... I'm glad that i'm not the only one who caught the "LEEROY JENKINS!" reference from last week's episode. I mean, It's nice to know that i'm not the BIGGEST geek in the world...

I'm up in Rochester for the FIRST regionals. And i'm happy to say that Team 250 (The Colonie team) was on the winning alliance. 250 also won the animation and safety award. My throat is a little sore from cheering and doing the "Piggy" chant.

Oh, and Michelle is awesome. And I love her. (She told me to write that.)
